    Ricoh 2238c "SC285" message

    Hi everyone,

    I just got a message is "SC285" , dose any know what code means?
    funtional problem? or need to replace supplies?

      Its a failure in the self check pattern, you need to check the life of the drum units (if over life they may not be able to make the pattern properly), could also be a dirt ID sensor.
      What is the copy quality like in full colour ?

          Check the condition of the image transfer unit. How old is the belt.Are the chrome rollers clean?
          Normally, we just change the entire ITB unit but You may not have that luxury.Good luck..

              As above, worn PCU's, developer units, ITB and ITB cleaning unit. Also be sure the line position sensors are clean and functional.
