i have a sr 3000 booklet finisher that jams j138 which is the finisher staple motor. when it jams the second time with the same jam code it throws up an sc 742, Finisher stapler movement motor error. it staples the top left corner fine but when you try to staple booklets it throws up a jam after the booklet has finished with no staples. i took the cover off and i can see the staple moving to the left. once the paper is on the stacker, the stapler slides towards to the right and catches a black guide like a clamp spring loaded? there doest seem to be anything bent or broke. it confusing because it only catches abit on the edge of this guide

Check the parts manual for the location of the spring and relocate between the staple head and the mounting bracket. I lifted the finisher onto a table, it was much easier to see where the spring fitted!Comment
