slow scanning on pro 1106

Hi all ,

I have a pro 1106 which is sufferring from slow scanning to a folder but only when the ACS scanning mode is selected, its not the transfer of info which is slow but the physical speed of the feeder, in ACS mode it is slow and in non ACS mode it is ok. Any ideas, ?

Has it recently become slower in ACS mode or always been the same ? and how much slower is it ? ACS requires a bit more processing and so if it is marginaly slower then that could be down to the processing.
What speed does adf work in full colour scan to folder ? is it same or quicker than ACS ?

It only came to light when we compared it to another 1106 in the same print room, this one will scan at full feeder speed and then do a couple of pages slowly then revert to normal speed and so on, It points as you say to a processing error since when you run the same set of origionals on black and white scanning all is well. WE also ran some test origionals with less coverage on them and they scan correctly as well, None the wiser really but something is not quite right !

Have a look at the firmware levels on both machines, id make sure the one that is slow has the same firmware versions as the one that is ok. Also do both machines have the same amount of dimms. If that doesnt work then as long as they are identicle then maybe swap controllers over and see if fault moves.
