[Jamming] ARDF DF3010 (B802-01) intermittent J053 jam codes

I need assistance resolving a intermittent jamming problem in a ARDF DF3010 (B802-01) document feeder attached to a Aficio MP C3500. It will pickup and feed the paper (any size) but will stop during transport. Both the scan entrance and exit sensor switch from 0 to 1 and all the motors rotate fine. I have all the rollers, still no joy. I believe this could be a calibration problem, as it my not know what size paper. I have the service manual, but it really isn't clear on the procedure (I tried to perform the side-to-side registration (SP6-006-001), the value changed from 0.7 to 3). Any assistance would be deeply appreciated.

Where is this clutch located? I have a parts manual, but not a service manual.

There isn't a clutch in the Apollon's DF. With regard to it jamming, if you run it in DF free run with a load of blank paper in it, check the sensor results as it's running. I've also had one of the motors go bad, you could actually hear it slowing down as it was running. Check all the one way bearings, give them a clean out, change the usual suspects like the pickup roller, sep roller, torque limiter etc.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

        Hit it.

Check the torque limiter for crack line on its plastic casing, replace it if crack.

I faced the same problem. Check the Logging Data. If your problem is with JAM CODE 53 (SP7-505-53 is the highest value for original jams), then clean the skew correction sensor. Please, have in mind RICOH issued technical bulletin about that. Some covers could be replaced as a permanent solution...

The largest of the 3 transport rollers just past the feed belt can become loose on the shaft that drives them. It doesn't spin freely on it all of the time, but you can check it by turning it manually and see whether it starts to slip.

This is a fairly common issue.
