2090 dirty copies on the sides of the copy

We've got a 2090 in our shop printing out dirty copies. The copies are only dirty on the left edge of the copy. You can't tell they're dirty until you have a small stack of copies or more, in which case it's very noticeable. I think i know what the problem component is but it can be expensive to replace parts on these machines so i want to be sure. So what should i replace?

Had something similar on a colour machine, turned out to be a mylay guide just below the transfer roller, reoved it and dirty edge went and didnt seem to affect paper path. May be something like that in the same area that you are getting.
Easiest way to test that is clean everything in the paper path leading to transfer, then set a long run and if it starts clean then gets dirty it has to be guides/ rollers in that area getting dirty.

Check the mag rollers, there might be toner filmed on them. Also the entrance mylars on the PCU.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

        Hit it.

Clean the black plastic guide on the right side of the transfer unit. Toner gets on the ribs and will make it look like somebody ran a pencil down the side of a stack of paper.

Also check the rear side for wear. It will cause jamming headaches once it gets too worn down.

Sorry to go off topic techsass, but where are the syllables in your name divided at - between the 'h' and the 's' or the 's' and the 'a'?
