I have the goose guide which states for backrounding to refer to tsb 007 which i do not have. I had a progreesive backround problem but it was way overdue for pm so i changed drum, blade, chg roller, transfer belt etc. Thinking i would solve the issue anyhow, but i was wrong, before i start pulling whats left of my hair out, does anyone have that bulletin or any suggestion. Copies start out near perfect and gets progressivly more backround like the drum is getting quenched.

Had the same last week with an MP5000. Changed developer a few times and development unit and no result. The first 200 copies were OK, but suddenly the grey/black background appeared again. I went to customer with a senior tech from Ricoh and it turned out the machine was using Japanese toner with European developer, and these two don't make friends... We put in a new PCU with the right developer and toner and the problem was gone. -

I have found developer crashs way early in this fine machine, even though it is supposed to be "new and improved".I usually end up replacing developer anywhere from 80k-150k copies.Oh,and be sure to scrape off the mag roller-it will be coated with toner.
Hope that helps.Good luckComment
