    Mp4000 fax problems

I really hope you guys can help me on this one, I have a mp4000 with print scan,& fax. The problem is that sometimes when sending a fax the recieveing end recieves the image rotated 90 degrees, this only happens randomly, but often. All firmware has been upgraded. I have went 3-4 times and reset system firmware and it will work while I'm there . Any help is welcome. Thanks.

I had this same issue and it turned out to be operator error. They would put the document in the feeder and lay some other papers covering the original length sensors. Try it and check the confirmation. The image on the confirmation will also be rotated and shrunk. Also, check those sensors and make sure they are clean and check them in input mode.

I agree with jonhiker . Also make sure that they have not manually selected a paper size with a different orientation .

I agree with the operator error, but it's likely the direction of the originals. I tell all my customers to send faxes SEF as some faxes do not auto rotate LEF originals (older, different models, etc.) Find out if they can send a fax to one of the problem locations both directions to see if it can be reproduced.
