2232c Says cyan is empty(not empty)

I've got a customer with a 2232c that says it's out of cyan. I vacuumed out the device that connects to the cyan toner shortly about a month ago. They recently called again with the same problem and i did the same thing as before to keep them up and running until i know for sure what the problem is.

Could be a defective toner pump, a blocked toner tube, a defective development unit, or a defective development clutch.

I have seen the toner hoppers go out too and give the same problem.
It happens mostly on black and yellow, but it depends on how much saturation of each color they are using.
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

My money is on the toner pump

Due to the age of the copier, and a lot of previous experience, I'd be changing the toner pump first. The clutches seem to have a limited life then start slipping. Changing the pump is the easy part, pulling the entire gearbox of the back to get to the connector is a bit of a bugger. Give yourself plenty of time.
At least 50% of IT is a solution looking for a problem.

Winner goes to the toner pump. The slide on the pump was blown out

Is there anything else i should check that would cause that? or is that just a pump malfunction?

Ricoh toner pumps are known to develop excess play in them and fail to attract toner. Fact of life, doesn't happen everyday but be aware of it.
