Sc 672 on Ricoh 1232c

Hi I have a ricoh 1232c and all of a sudden it started giving sc 672 error, the recession has taken its toll and we are not in a position to call a tech to fix it. ANy guidance to get the issue fixed is appreciated. Thanks

This is an extract from the service manual it could also be faulty ram dimm
make sure you allow the connections to dry before reinstalling in the machine

CAUSE

Poor contact between the controller board DIMMs and connectors, caused by dust and
other particles that can be attracted to the contact areas.

SOLUTION

Check the contact points described below for each symptom, then remove the DIMMs and
clean the DIMM terminals with alcohol.

Symptom: Contact Points to Check/Clean:
SC672 (Controller-to-operation panel
communication error at startup)
CN4: Memory DIMM

CN6 (Slot 1): Printer / Scanner controller
