    Ricoh 1075 light copies

    Hello friends,

I have serviced a Ricoh 1075 and the copies are very light.

I have changed the drum, developer, cleaning web and brush and corona grid after around 7000 copies the quality were very very good but after that the copies are very light.

I tried to do sc2801 developer and than sc2207 force toner supply but i saw that the toner does not move after that i tried ti see if the motor of the toner was ok and from the service menu i check if it works and the motor rotate normally.

I do not know what is it please can you help?

By re entering 2801 after a forced toner supply you probably ruined the dev! NEVER use SP2207.

You can set the machine to develop ID patches during a run which will help to keep the toner level correct and replenish the toner if it is low.

Check the drum earth behind the flywheel at the rear of the machine. If the earth is poor, the drum cannot discharge the laser pulse and the copies will be light.

        Hwzit,

Having run 7000 copies then doing TD sensor initial setting might not be helpful the developer maybe damaged by this time, remember that new dev comes with a certain amount of toner is it possible that after you changed the dev, toner was not been feed into the dev tank have had this sort of problem with other models though. Check your toner supply system make sure that the toner outlet from the bottle holder into the toner hopper is not been obstructed in anyway check your toner end sensor if it's functioning properly and make sure that the toner hopper is in good working order.

I hope this is helpful if not post we put our heads together and come up with something else to try

Give us the readings for SP2223 and 3103 (Vsp and Vsg)

Is the machine asking for toner? If not and the Vsp reading is above about 1.0, it's probably the toner end sensor at the front of the hopper. If the hopper is empty (It shouldn't be) and you cheat the front door, you should hear the sensor "Tweeting". if not, replace the sensor.

These machines are well known for the toner supply clutch to fail !! The clutch is part of the dev motor assy. You may have to replace the motor assy with clutch in it.

x2. Had one do it last month.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

                Hit it.
