    2238c Color boarder line

2238c color copies coming out with a boarder around every part of the image. Looks kinda like a 3d image without the 3d glasses on. Black and white copies are fine. But when you put a black and white copy with a color copy (testing purposes) the black and white part of the copy will have an outline coloring as well.

The color registration is off. First make sure you have cleaned the MUSIC sensors, the transfer belt is undamaged and the silver roller at the top left edge (as you face it from the front-under the transfer belt) is scrubbed clean and all of the color densities are within range. Do a color registration adjustment in user tools and if that fails follow these easy directions to correct it.....

Thank you for your assistance. What/Where are MUSIC sensors?

Also on the first page of the flow chart it says under if skewed/criss-crossed about 5 info boxes down to set SP 2-908-3,4,2 to factory data sheet*. What is this referring to?

Just noticed the side not that says "Factory data sheet is located inside front cover. Use a value of 0 if no data is found.". Is it talking about the front cover of the service manual or where ever these instructions come from? I know i can figure this out no problem but I am just curious.

The birth certificate of the machine, it'll be hiding in the front cover somewhere, single sheet of A4.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

            Hit it.

ok figured that little problem out but now when i try and do the forced line adj (sP5-993-2) It fails the operation. Not sure if i should keep going on as instructed or if i have to do something to make it say completed

you have to keep going all the steps in this technical bulletin, until your machine says "completed" in the forced line adjustment.
