it is illegal but i know how to reset digital counter became 00000 you can contect me on my email is sheikh.2418@yahoo.com. at this page you know it is not good to tell every one about this cheeting.
[QUOTE=andym;198587]backup your nvram. replace the nvram chip. download nvram settings to new chip.
Note: this will include the total counter.
The best way to accomplish this is to keep running the machine until the meter flips to 0000000. and good luck with that. It could take longer if there is any actual print on the page.

Thanks for the replies. I know it is not legal but I have 500 photocopiers imported from Germany. They have over 1000000 copies but in very good condition are. Can not sell simply because I can not explain to my customers that the number of copies is not so important if the copier is in good condition. I do not want to go back to 0 copies. I just want a little back to the 700,000 or 800,000 copies no more. Well damn if you please somehow help me because no other way I can sell.
So if I sell you car, it doesn't matter to you if it has 100.000 km on the meter or 800.000? AF2045's with over a million copies on the meter are simply not in a good condition, I can tell you that! And by the way, it's not possible to turn back the total counter. There are ways to reset the counter, but if you sell one like this you're just ripping your customer off, period.
And if you're lucky enough to sell one, if the customer does some research, he'll find out that he's been ripped off by you. An AF2045 with 000000 on the meter is not a new machine.

Fortunately the only option is o count, so this makes it quite obvious to any buyer that the machines counter has been doctored. I think this thread should be deleted. The OP should be deeply ashamed of his actions.

I think they saw you coming my friend. What where you thinking? I'd send them all back to Germany and ask for my money back.......
This is what gave this industry a crappy name back in the late 80's, early 90's, reseting meters, along with copyplans. 2045's with 1mill on them, woudn'y touch them with a barge pole
Page counters consist of many sections, electrical counters and mechanical counter. electrical counters are included in the page size and location and functional(copy, print, scan) counter.
Re electrical counter, I don't think the reset is secret or legal question, just only professional skill issue. First the counter reset is much like Computer CMOS Jumper reset to kill password. , reset only can be return Zero, they can not be any number you wanted.
If reseting done, SMC reports (SP5990) still record other functional page counter. It is much like a car's odometer "A" and "B" counter methods
