Bypass locked as in you can't change the paper size or it's just not there?
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

Can't change. And one of the trays vanished.

Have you check the driver settings? if these options are not enabled, they will not work. It might not be a bad idea to delete the printer and re-install

Yeah, sounds like a driver issue. Wrong one perhaps?

I do not know if I understand your question.
In my opinion you should follow the suggestions but if you can to change the paper size on by-pass you can click on the # key (after putting the paper)

Don't forget, what the display is showing for bypass size in printer mode is what the default setting is for the bypass and not driver related. Typically you can change that in printer user tools. Driver commands for paper size override the printer settings (unless changed in the user tools). So even if it shows 8.5x11 on the copier display, if you send a 8.5x14 document then that is what the printer is expecting to be put in the bypass tray. The main issue is when sending a letter size document that you put it in the right orientation (though I notice that the MPC4501 has an auto detect setting for the bypass tray, which only determines the orientation of the letter - landscape or portrait).
