[Misc] Ricoh 2060 - Postscript Card for Mac

I apologize if this has been addressed before.

I have a Ricoh 2060 that we have had for at least 5 years, but we just recently put on our network for printing.

One of my users has a Mac using OS X 10.6.6. I downloaded the drivers, but it looks like our 2060 only supports PCL, and the Mac Driver only offers Postscript.

I called my Ricoh sales rep and was told there was a Postscript card on that would cost $1,500.

I did some searching online for used/recycled cards and see them online for $300-$400.

Question 1 - is there a way around the Postscript Driver issue on a Mac that wont cost me anything?

Question 2 - if I bought a used/receycled Postscript card, is something a novice could install? Also, I assume if I did this on my own I could be voiding my service contract.

    Any help is appreciated.

1)there are some PCL-postscript emualtors, but the functionality is limited and do not always work correctly.

    2) most likely, yes, but I cannot say for sure.

Like Jon mentioned, there are some emulators.

You may be able to find a Gutenprint driver for OSX 10.6.which would do this, but keep in mind that it will almost no doubt be a compromise; things like full functionality and print quality may not be as good as with true PostScript. Also, it is almost a given that speed would suffer, due to the additional conversion being done for every print job.

Then you have the issue of having no support for going that route.
