Re: MPC 2500 with 553
Thanks s -slob..... If changing thermistors is the only ongoing advice techs can get from this site on the SC553 issue, then I see no valid reason not to update these poor guys when an alternative / better idea comes along. Its a perennial problem and has caused me and many colleagues strife over the years after having changed EVERYTHING (else) in the Fuser assembly and no improvement..... (except a worn sponge roller !!).Comment

If you want to include an abandoned thread you can always add a link to it in your post.
Just my two cents.Comment

Re: MPC 2500 with 553
Thanks for the heads up. I'm fairly new to this help site, so I welcome your suggestion(s).
BTW.... as you may have gathered, I'd changed everything apart from the plastic housing to no avail....except the Sponge Roller because I couldnt believe it could be that causing the problem !!Comment

Years ago we had an MPC 2500 fuser thermostat/sw that appeared to reset it's self when cooled.
Nearly drove us to drink. We replaced all thermostats in the fuser unit and problem solved.
There was also a problem with the slow operation of the "exhaust fan" situated at the front upper right under the control panel.

Re: MPC 2500 with 553
Thank you, I know there can be many reasons for that error code, however i just described my experiences with SC553 after having done so may "normal" things to fix it. Maybe its a coincidence.... who knows. But the sponge roller seems to have been the final answer in 3 cases so far. Don't ask me what's wrong with the sponge roller ...other than worn down .7 mm in diameter. "When all else fails, it's whatever is left that's the answer" CheersComment
