Hi everyone. I have an account that has been using thier MP2000L for quiet a while now as a printer with no problems. Thier IT guy decieded they could use the scan function and tried to set it up. He tells me it cant scan. When you select the scan function the display says " connecting to PC, set origanals and select settings from PC" He wants to scan to e-mail but cant figure out how. They are using windows XP. I dont see scan listed under user tools and dont see any addressbook settings. Is this machine missing something? Thanks for any ideas you have.

First of all find the ip address of the machine, Then use IE to access the machine, you can set the machine up to scan to Email with the browser. You may need to go into admin mode. You will need the user name and password usually username= "admin" password= "password" You will slso need email settings like SMTP Server Name, SMTP Auth. User Name, DNS Server 1, DNS Server 2, DHCP= off. there are other variables, but you can start here,. good luck....Ant -
No scan to folder or scan to email capabilities with this model.

Found conflicting info on this model mp2000 mp2000L, found 3 that say it can Scan to Email: SMTP, TCP/IP (IPv4)Comment

The MP 2000SPF will give you scan to email. (It will even do LDAP lookups.)
The 2000 and 2000L will not.
