Sounds like you have a bad laser unit. Possibility might just be the mirror motor but normally that just throws a 320. If its not spinning at speed that could also give you the sync problem your getting as well. With the age of that machine and the laser unit in it, its hard to tell if its just the motor or something wrong in the unit.
