Ricoh MP C 2550 Scan to email

Scan to email works then gets kicked off the network works after 5 to 30 Minutes.

Reboot the C 2550 and then scan to email works about 5 to 30 Minutes.
You can access Web Admin from the server but not from the workstations.

    But it will still scan!

I unplugged the machine took it to a different room and used a new patch cord same results.

Had something like this a few years ago on a MP C2500. After a few visits I discovered that the MP C2500 was using the same IP-adress as another device on the network.

Sorry forgot to list that as one of the things I tried Did unplug and and no ping reply. Also wouldn't you see some printing issues also?

          Network type ?

Is this network on a managed switch ? It may be that there is a VPN set up on the switch isolating devices from general LAN traffic. That would explain the workstations not being able to see the device, and the server being able too. However I am only speculating, but I have seen this type of setup on some networks. Why it worked for a while is odd, or is the device causing intermittent conflicts due to having a fixed IP address in a DHCP range ?

I would definitely try to investigate there being network issues at the site. It could be by design that the local workstations can't access WIM, the network people could be blocking it with a firewall so that people do not try to mess with the copier through WIM and it can only be accessed from the server. Your other problems could be due to the local network setup having routing or other issues, but it could be the NIB. The only other thing on the machine I could see causing the problem is maybe you need to format the HDD. Sometimes if there is a bad sector on it, when you scan the document, it saves it to the HDD then sends it. If part of the document is saved to the bad sector, it could cause the problem, and could be why it works sometimes and not others, but honestly sounds like a network problem.

Changed the IP address to 10.0.0.12 and it worked!
I have a new policy if there is a machine on the network that is working and one that’s not switch IPs and see what happens. Would have saved me about 20 Hours!
              Thanks for all the input...

i started running them in full "auto" DHCP, printing out the network setup page results and then going back and comparing to what the client "thinks" needs to be input static. This does not solve all issues, but often the DNS they give is incorrect, or the IP they give has already been used, so this way I know I "had" a working machine until they gave me the info.
