Ricoh 3800C can't auto colour registration

    Hi,

I have Ricoh 3800C. When I print/copy, there are shadow behind the text/pic. I Tried to calibrate auto color registration but not successful. I try manually, but the magenta colour is out of the box (B, E, H and K). I tried many times, but can't fit it.

first of all, check if parts need replacing or cleaning specifically the trannsfer belt & cleaning blade.if all this is ok the manual registration will have to be done until it comes close to spec so the auto will work.had to do this once or twice time consuming and a bit of a pain

Developer is a good thing to check as well. I had a 3500C that couldn't complete MUSIC and the print looked decent as far as density was concerned but it wasn't dense enough for the process control to complete successfully. After trying the transfer belt unit and no luck I tried developers and that took care of it. Otherwise msmy is right with the manual registration and it is a bear, especially if you have never done it before. make sure you have a loop to help look at the toner lines and help save your eyes.

Disassembling and cleaning the entire transfer unit (including the inner side of the tranfer film, all rollers) may help for a while but it's also possible that the belt is worn out and needs to replace (depending on the total counter maybe the entire transfer unit but that's gonna be too pricey for a ~10 years old machine).

If the image density has became light it's possible that this is the cause - you can try to perform a toner refresh via sp.
