Savin 3528C (aficio 3235C) B178 code. Not always printing color.

This machine was running fine after I replaced all the dev clutches and the black
dev unit. It would print in color, and give a nice copy B&W or Color.
Then while I was working on their other 3528C, which was not connected to their
network at the time, it was reported to me that it did not print everything in
color. I looked at the drop down drive window and went through the properties.
Everything I saw looked like it should print in color when it had a color print
to print. Somethings still print in color (pictures) but a file they created with
a logo now prints in b&w.
I do not normally do connectivity stuff, but know enough to be dangerous.

Anyone know what happen or have a similar experience?

    Thanks

I don't know if it helps but the only time I saw something like that they had a print server involved. They would setup the driver the way they wanted for printing and the print server would override it and do its own thing. It was strange because it didn't affect everyones computer, just a few so I ended up just connecting directly to the machine for printing instead of going through the server and problem solved. Brought in two other IT guys with me and between the three of us we could not find a cause as to why it was doing it. Did it with every driver available as well. I guess now that I think about it I have had problems with very select programs and strange printing behaviors. You have the print setup menu and you have the page setup menu where you can select everything you can in print setup as well. Whatever I would setup in print setup would be ignored and page setup would be applied. An example is a customer had a document that was created by their corporate office. When the document was created it was created as a color job printing out of the bypass tray then saved. When transferred to the satellite offices and opened they would change it to black and white and tray 1 in the print setup and would still print color and ask for paper in bypass tray. After a bit of troubleshooting I went into page setup and found that it was setup there as color and bypass, made the changes and matched them in the print setup window as well and the jobs came out black and white from tray 1. Those are the only things that happened to me in the past that are related to your problem. Hope it helps!

      wfinn,
It sounds as though making the page and print set up's match, did not correct the problem.

The customer was using it along and then something changes. And now not everything
that use to print in color, prints in color.
I will check to see if the set up's match. Ya never know there might be a clue their.

      Thanks
