Scan to folder win7 ricoh 2075

Anything different for win 7 ? I can see, browse network, log in with correct pswd/login etc. File/printer sharing enabled, shared folder created. No go. Do I need to open specific port ?

Firmware without a doubt. Windows 7 and 2008 server use a newer SMB configuration. Without newer NIC firmware, most of the older machines can't see the newer machines. It should work if you build the path by \\IP\Share, though in a DHCP environment it opens up a few extra risks.

        thanks.
Is this the firmware of the 2075 or just the NIC firmware on the machine?
Using \\IP\Share instead of \\CompName\Share indicates WINS server isn't setup, but will give it a go.

          win 7

I have run into some sharing issues with windows 7 home (SMB file share issues). Make sure to fully update the firmware in the ricoh/savin copier (Not just NIB). This seems to resolve most of the issues I have run into. You shouldn't have any issues with windows 7 pro as the file sharing works slightly differently.

Windows 7 Scan to Folder SMB.pdf

here's a document to help with W7 scanning to folder. i just did one where the key was to go to Firewall>Advanced Settings>File and Print Sharing and make sure it is checked on both public and private networks. You may not be able to browse, so just input the whole path and the log in information.

excellent, thank you. their firewall is currently from Norton, which I had disabled, but it's a temp offer so next time @ site I will boot it out of their computer and use regular firewall. Norton is a known virus in my book
              Thx,

                Try this:

Go to "Network and Sharing Center" -> "Change Advanced Sharing Settings" -> Select "Turn off password protected sharing"

If you're still having issues, be sure the client machine's network connection is associated with a 'trusted' network profile such as Work or Home as opposed to Public, otherwise file sharing is turned off by default.

not sure if it applies to all Ricoh's, but on Win7 I always have to create a password for the windows account that I am logged in as. If I share C:\scans on a computer with the netbios name of JOE, the share would be \\JOE\scans and then user auth to folder with the user name and password of the windows user I am currently logged into. be sure on the folder share that "everyone" is allowed read and write access to the folder, I often "fix" where others have enable read access only, and so you can browse from the machine, but without write, is a no go.
