Ricoh MP3500 Web Interface Password has been changed. NVRAM replacement?

The login username and password for the web interface has been changed. The default admin, or supervisor won't work. Is there any way to re-set to default on this model? I have checked all the SP resets and memory clears with no luck.

What is the procedure for NVRAM replacement? Will the e counter change to "0"?
This is a trade-in machine that was refurbished and there is no way to find the old password.

    Thanks for any input.

On this model, you will have to replace the NVRAM on the controller board.

If you do not have the original birth certificate, then be sure to print out all of the Non-default settings. Then, just switch out the NVRAMS and you are ready. The meter will be "0" and you will have to input the serial number. Do not follow the manual instructions where it says to download the NVRAm data and then upload it to the new one. You will then carry over the password info you can't figure out.

Try to log in as "supervisor" with no password. A New NVRam does indeed reset the electronic counter and there's no way to re-enter the original value (but it's still displayed @the mechanical counter of course).

Agreed with your post Gift, log in as 'supervisor' with no password & you will get the option to change Administrator password

That's assuming some 'tard administrator on a power trip hasn't changed it. If it is not at its default then the NVRAM will be the only way. As mentioned, DO NOT backup and restore via SD card the password you want to be rid of will likely be transferred over.

OK. Thanks for your posts. I have tried admin and supervisor with no luck. I will order the nvram chips. Will the nvram off a used mp3500 work if I just enter the new settings?

That's (usually) possible. If the controller NV-Ram looks like a classic EEPROM you can also just wipe the data with a prommer.

Don't forget to printout the Non-Default SMC page

First try sp 5801-011 memroy clear for the NCS settings. This does reset the passwords for the web. If that doesn't work print the non default data from the smc lists, so you can reenter this info when you replace the NV ram. BTW your meter will be toast.
