This message appears in non genuine toner is fitted having said that I have had it with genuine ricoh toner this is because the small pcb on the end of the Ricoh genuine toner records the usage and the weigth of toner left in the bottle. This pcb communicates with the copier wirelessly with a sensor in the machine see manual for full description. Basically the sensor pcb is corrupt if genuine toner is used tell customer to ignore and this will go away on the next toner change. if non genuine toner is used live with it

You'll also get this with Ricoh toner if the customer pulls out a partially full bottle, replaces it with another and then puts the original one back in.

You can change the setting for SP5-051-001: [Toner Refill Detection Display] from 0 (Enabled: Default Setting) to 1 (Disabled) to stop the display of Independent supplier toner is set.

However, you must turn off and turn on the main power after changing the setting for the change to take effect.

I meke this very often and is ok.

                  Ricoco,
after you do the change what happens the next time the machine needs toner?
Will it let you know or you have to assume it is low in toner because the image will be light?

i think it will be gone, because if you enable 5061(toner remaining display) you cant see that it is full even if the toner cartridge is new. just an idea.tnx

                        I could be wrong, but...
All my machines are set with 5061 enable and work fine.
@remote work properly, everything works like befour.
(except the message "independent tonner" that does not show)

What I understand Mr. Nick40 is asking if when you set 5051 to 1, does the machine ask for toner if it is already empty or will continue printing? enabling 5061 will just display the toner remaining icons and nothing to do with the toner end detection.
