What is the best way to get to the laser mirrors?
Can I take the whole scan unit out?

check the door switch 1st, it can happen to a failure micro switch.

Ditto what kanglee said, I've never seen a laser get dirty on the inside on one of these models. The door contacts are the most likely culprit.

[Symptom]
SC 322 error is displayed randomly or permanently. Cover Open indications and image distortion may also occur.

[Cause]
Interlock switches for the front or side cover may have become dirty internally causing open or high resistance circuits.
