    MPc4000 faxes won't pr - nt

Sorry about the multi-posts. I saw something in the site Feedback forum about a bug with the subject ending with the word print. Hopefully this will work. I originally posted this in the fax forum, but it displayed in a "Print View" without an option for replies. Then I posted it here with the same result.

I have a customer with an MPc4000 where only the Fax feature won't print - incoming faxes & confirmation pages. The LCD simply flashes "Processing". I get the same result when I try printing out the Fax parameter list. They called because the memory was at 0%. I set up forwarding so they could retrieve their faxes for now.

Each of the 4 paper trays are less than 1/2 full & I've tried changing the default to each of them without any luck. I can make copies from all the trays. The last SC code was an SC 991 in January. I also did Fax SPs 5102 & 5104 along with Copier SP 5801-7 & 12 & updated all of the firmware.

I was in the same building Friday & made the mistake of trying to see if I could get it going by replacing the BICU &/or the IOB pcb's since I had them in my car. The IOB didn't phase it & the BICU was defective - it wouldn't power up past a couple of initial clicking noises. When I re-installed the initial BICU, I started getting an SC-863-06 unless I unplugged the HDD. So now I can't forward the incoming faxes anymore.

I'm a complete novice to the fax side (hence my shotgun approach) so I'd appreciate any suggestions.

    Thanks,

I had a lanier LD328c that did the same thing that you are describing and the problem was a corrupted IPU firmware. I was able to reload the firmware and it worked.
I also had a mpc4000 last year that would not answer faxes every now and them and it was a bad controller.
