    Ricoh Aficio 551 JAM 12

    Hi all,
I have problem with jaming on A551 type 12 ( relay senzor ON check ). Copier works 3 duplex copys normaly without jam. If I make more then 3 duplex copys I have jam 12. Single copying works normaly and without registration problems. I changed el. mag. clutch AX20 0206 on exit roler of duplex unit and clutch AX20 0150 witch drives first roler behind duplex. All this don't get me positive result. Do you have problem like this?
I will be wery hapy for all your advices.

If I will have problems with one side copies ofcourse I will thing about that. But I dont have any problems with single copies. All three decks works prfect! Only duplexing makes me problems all the same which deck I use! One more thing; A3 format works good also in duplex mode multisets!!!!

Registration mylars will be worn out, they give mental duplex jams on this model.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

        Hit it.

Reg. mylars are ok. I checked all registration unit when I replaced feed clutch. I take out complete unit and inspect paper way. It is in a good condition. Before 300K I replaced all registration mylars with the new one!

Doesn't always follow. The timing is more critical from the duplex exit

It is usually the clutches in the tray feed units and the registration unit that cause this, not the duplex unit.
Don't take that toner with me!

Although, I do recall the two clutches behind the flat part of the duplex unit could cause this kind of problem, normally the last one the paper leaves.

I have the same problem with an Aficio 1055.
I ordered all mag. clutch of duplex unit.
Next week I'm going to replace them and I'll let you know if I've solved.
                  Bye.

I have replaced all mag. clutch of duplex unit but the problem is not solved.
Ricoh helpdesk advised me to replace all the clutches of the first tray and subsequent transport.
This is because if the paper is late may cause jams only in duplex mode.
                    What do you think?

I think tsc already suggested that and I agree.

Yeah, I also suggested that. have seen it too many times. I never even mess with the duplex unit anymore when this happens. usually just replacing the feed clutches for the affected feed station solves this.

and of course, the first feed station is always suspect because it is used for all copies. and never forget the middle clutch.
