Have a customer who wants to print labels thru the bypass. Has anyone had any issues? This is the newest model that is color and 25 per minute, weighs about 200lbs. It can handle 140lb. cardstock so I would hope labels are ok?
Ricoh 2550C Savin C9025 can it print labels?

Absolutely, just make sure you set the paper type correctly for the weight (Thick 1,2,3, or Middle Thick). Remember, setting paper type as Cardstock or Labels is not the correct setting, that's basically just a tag for reference. You need to set it for a Thick setting to allow for proper fuser temp and feed speed. Also make sure they use a quality label brand made for copiers and they can/should only run them through once. I've had users run them through multiple times because they only need one label per run. All that will do is guarantee jam ups and service calls. -
Thanks for that, very appreciated. I will remember that weight of paper is most important over type of paper, I did not realize that as much. I did check with the customer and she did say she prints only a few labels at a time so she is re-inserting the same sheet. She said will but a small HP ink jet just to do labels. I guess that is the best solution?Comment

I try to convince people that need single address labels to buy an address label maker that spits them out off a roll. They can be had for under $100 and come with the software needed and is probably more flexible for their needs. I think even running a full sheet through an inkjet printer will cause problems in the long run, the main thing being that the ink will smear if it gets damp and chances of streaking on the blank ones from a leaky ink head. If she's only doing occasional printing then it's probably ok.Comment
