[Misc] Ricoh MP 5500 Scan question?

I have a customer that has a Ricoh MP 5500 and wants to scan into 1 file a batch of single sided originals then a batch of double sided originals. Is it possible to do that? and if so could someone give me a brief explanation how to do it.I have tried it myself and once i scan the single sided originals,i can not do the double sided without getting 2 separate files.I know i am probably missing a step somewhere but i have looked all though the scan manual.Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks

I don't think that's possible. The only way to do this is by scanning each document on the exposure glass.

You can't mix 1 and 2 sided on this model.

I just checked out the MP C4501 on the demo floor, and it has a function for "Mix 1 and 2 Sided", which allows you to toggle between the two.

I REALLY doubt that's something that can simply be "turned on" in older models.

          Time to upgrade?

You could just merge the 2 PDF's with something like PDFCreator - The free PDF Creator and Converter | pdfforge.org.
DesktopBinder was able to do it too I think...

i think you would have to do the whole job as 2 sided but i think there is a setting to auto delete blank pages but not sure.

While I agree that a possible solution is to scan the whole job 2 sided, I know of no machine setting to delete blank pages - doing so would require external software.

I'm pretty sure the setting you're referring to is to delete the last page of a duplexed scan job if it is blank.

My theory (probably won't work), is to select Batch scanning in Original Type, select duplex and scan those originals. Now when that stack is done, see if you can deselect 2 sided and put in the rest of the originals as single sided (or visa versa).
