[Electrical] Wireless Type N and MP2000 Woes

    Hi Guys!

This is my first post as an newbie so bare with me.

The Ricoh wireless Option N WiFi card was installed in a MP 2000 but doesn't connect to any WiFi routers. There is no signal and the LED's seems to suggest that the radio in the WiFi card is not getting any power (Solid green - no red led)

    Here's what I've done thus-far:

-Successfully joined the WiFi network with my cellphone and Laptop
-Turned off all encryption and authentication
-Moved the MFP within 2 feet of the WiFi router
    -Tried a different router
-Updated all relevant firmware for the controller
-Turned on the NIC in SP mode

    Any help would be appreciated

Both routers used in the configuration support the "B" specification

      This isn't a 2000L is it?

Naw, it has a GW controller. I corrected the original post to read Ricoh's wireless option N and not the "N" specification

The 2000 takes the Type H card, not N.

Also, the card needs to be specified under System Settings; if it's not, the machine will only try to use the wired port. I fell for that a few months ago on an MP2851 - totally forgot.

just an experience on mpc series, you have to disable the wired LAN connection to make the wireless connection work. maybe in mp 2000 you have to put the device settings to 0. just an idea

Attached are a few pages dfrom the user manual that may help.

Note: The full user manual is freely available for download from Ricoh in the event you don't have it.
