Aficio 2027 Scan To Folder on Win 7 (Ultimate, Premium & Professional)

Can anyone on this thread help me on the step by step procedure on updating the firmware on all my aficio's 2027?? Is it the RAM that really needs to be updated or the whole controller board? How about the IPU board?
Thanks in advance & really appreciate your speedy reply..

You do not need to replace any components to update the firmware. Download the firmware from the TSRC, or TESSA site. you want to get the custom firmware for the SMB packet signing, . You will ned a 4MB PCMCIA card, as these do not use an SD card or can be done remotely.

Plus, here are some tips for W7 scan to folder setups Windows 7 Scan to Folder SMB.pdf.

Just in case, be ready to set up scan to email. The 2027's may be too old.

The other option is to disable SMBv2/3 on Windows 7 and default it to SMB1. There are multiple ways to do it, just do a Google search. One method (I haven't tried it myself) is described as follows...

      • Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Local Security Policy
      • Local Policies - Security Options
      • Network security: LAN Manager authentication level
      • Send LM & NTLM responses
      • Minimum session security for NTLM SSP
      • Disable Require 128-bit encryption

I had one like this a few weeks ago, the 2027 would not work with Server 2008, and the admin did not want to downgrade to SMB1. (I dont blame him for that!) So they upgraded the copier. Good for me!
