Lanier 5635 Error code SC990

I have a Lanier 5635 with the Error code SC990 and the message said:
"Functional problem within the copier. Turn main power switch off then on." But, after I turn off/on it's still there. Please tell me what the problem. Thanks

Sounds like it doesn't have an oem drum.

Try an original Ricoh part

Make sure firmware is up to date

disconnect the hard drive and see if it will boot up. Update firmware.

Thanks to both of you and I will try tomorrow.
Also, this copier has scanner option. How do I use this option? On Canon I just use Adobe Acrobat and and Net Gear to scan. But I am not familier with this Lanier. Please show me which software I need. Thank you.
