Make sure you're putting the .fwu files on the card and not the .rfu used for remote upgrades. Also, try a 64 MB card if you can find one as I've used one for years and never had to format it once.

Are you trying to load just the network firmware? Try updating everything and see if you get any better luck.

on the pdfs they are called rfu files.
this was sent to me zipped.

You can, but be sure that no print jobs or faxes will go to the machine. You will have to do them one at a time, but it should work.

rru / rfu files are the remote ones. you need the .fwu files. I would stick with fwu if you're not sure.

you can update through the web imagemonitor using the .rru files. it is slower in that it transfers the files, then loads the firmware, andthen reboots the machine after each upload and install.

                just an update.
it was the remote firmware i had and the machine took the upload without issues,
one at a time and with automatic reboot on the copier.
                thnx

Glad it worked for you. The remote firmware can come in handy, and some of the smaller printers can only be done this way. At least on the TRSC the firmware files are sorted by Remote and SD card, but I have seen rru and rfu files under the SD card firmware links before, though it's been awhile.
