[Error Code] SC 672 MPc300

This code is not listed in the servicemanual or on tessas knowlegebase.
I have tried to change the controller with success, but thought i should check if anybody have any experience with this problem.

Controller-to-operation panel communication error at startup
�� After the machine is powered on, the communication between the
controller and the operation panel is not established, or
communication with controller is interrupted after a normal startup.
�� After startup reset of the operation panel, the attention code or the
attention acknowledge code is not sent from the controller within 15
seconds.
�� After the controller issues a command to check the communication
line with the controller at 30-second intervals, the controller fails to
respond twice.

�� Controller stalled
�� Controller board installed incorrectly
�� Controller board defective
�� Operation panel connector loose or defective
�� The controller is not completely shutdown when you turn the main
switch off.

1. Check the setting of SP5875-001. If the setting is set to "1 (OFF)",
change it to "0 (OFF)".
2. Check the condition of the controller board.
3. Check the condition of the operation panel.

Try unplugging the HDD data cable and rebooting the machine. If this works, reformat or replace the HDD.

I've seen a lot of Sc672 codes caused by the Fax MBU not being seated firmly on the FCU PCB. The MBU is the small PCB with the battery that piggy backs on the large Fax PCB.

Hi everybody,

I have this code too, SC672 in randomly, and sometime the customer restart the mfp and this code reappears at the boot several times before start... or after a sleep time, or working...

I have also change :

• Controller Board
• HDD
• IPU

But same trouble randomly...
Firmwares is up to date.
I don't have seen this code in SMC history but a SC991 (same date/hour of this error)
I removed the fax card one day, to see, but the code reappears...

This machine is in a small room, and the customer move the Operation Panel regularly, perhaps the OP is faulty

Someone had this SC error before in this machine ?
