    [Jamming] Ricoh Aficio 1060 jamming

    Hi all

Ive got an aficio 1060 giving me a headache. Its jamming from all the feed stations. I have already changed two of the stations but still no difference.

Ive cleaned all the sensors,(reg, relay, transport etc)

From tray1 (tandem tray) always shows relay sensor jam (code 12)
From tray 2 always shows transport sensor 1 jam (code 08)
From tray 3 always shows transport sensor 2 jam (code 09)

Anybody have any idea what this problem may be ??

Developer leaking from dev. tank to feed stations...how many clicks on the meter?

you mentioned that you changed feed stations, were the gears dirty? Can you turn on reg motor and all pf clutches successfully in sp output mode?. Where is the paper stopping exactly?
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change.

Theres 2 1/2 million clicks. I'll check what you said, but ive just fitted two feed stations today and the fault was there straight away. Im wondering whether its something like a relay clutch or registration problem, even though the jam detection is earlier in then path.

I changed feed station 1 and 2 with stations taken from another machine which is working fine. The jam doesnt occur every copy, but a run of 20 or more will probably produce the jam. You hear a noise like a motor blocking and then the jammed paper feeds to the flap that drops open before registration.. the flap opens and then paper is there. This happens from all stations

Sounds like registration to me, check the motor/clutch

agree. if you have changed the feed stations from a known working machine then I would look at the registration unit. I have seen the problem before although usually it is one of the feed stations doing it (making the motor jamming noise) but if the registration unit has been contaminated with developer (which is common on that model) you can get the same thing. definitely check for the developer leak first and take care of that before doing anything else. there are no clutches in that model, just motors and one way bearings. if you do have developer contamination, you will need to completely disassemble the entire regist. unit including all shafts and bushings to get the developer out of there, then replace all the gears which have one way bearings in them. it is not an easy task and is very time consuming. you may even need to replace the motor if it has been contaminated with developer also. If you have 2.5 mil on the m/c you should also replace all the guide mylars in the registration unit also as they will wear out too just from normal use and can also cause jamming. good luck.

Sounds like the relay guide plate #B0652665. - item 20 on pg. 74. The mylar rubs against the 2 rollers and wears out. Classic intermittent jams around 2 million clicks. I still remember fighting my 1st one. I thought it was a motor too because I'd always here it just before it jammed.

They updated it on the 2060 and put cutouts where the rollers are,but I don't think they're interchangeable.
