[Misc] Ricoh MP 5500 - Address book restore using SD card is failing continuously

Replaced Hdd on a 5500 and trying to restore the address book. AB was backed up on SD card using Sp5846-051. When restoring using 5846-52 (upload) or even 5846-40 (migration) it fails. Also tried backing up using WIM or SDM Admin but the password has been changed, "admin" and blank doesnt work.
The SD card backup file looks like - usrdb/05a/backup_c.csv.
Until i find out the new admin password, any ideas on how to fix this using both methods will be appreciated, thanks.

Just take out the admin password. Log in as supervisor with no password, then go to User Tools / Systems Settings / Admin Tools / Program/Change Administrator. Then reset the admin password to null. The only down side is, if the customer has been stupid enough to change the supervisor account details as well, it's a new nvram.

Guaranteed, its a .CSV file that looks like this - backup_c.csv (6kb). I have seen .udf files too but i'm not sure when and how these are generated, different situations maybe?

Yes, that may work but i dont have the admin password to enter SDM for Admin to backup/restore the address book. I will try "supervisor" later (like TonerMunkeh suggested) and hope that hasnt been changed too.Thanks.

user tools / system / admin / backup address book. Will generate the .udf file you need for the SD card. Same procedure but "restore" on the other machine. This WILL work if your SD card is good. You don't have to enter SP mode.

Otherwise, as suggested use SDMA to copy the .csv file and relay to the new machine.

No problem, this works best with machines of same type, but can work if they just have the same controller architecture. For instance, I tried between an AF2105 and MP6500 and it didn't recognise the card, but was fine with a laptop using SDMA. If you need to edit the codes it's best to use SDMA (.CSV) as you can't modify the .UDF on the SD card.
