I've never tried to set it back. The manual says its a one off setting.

          Counting
          method
          SP5-045-001
Specifies if the counting method used in
meter charge mode is based on
developments or prints. NOTE: You can
set this one time only. You cannot
change the setting after you have set it
          for the first time.
          “0”:
          Developments

It does say can only be done once but I have done it and it works

There is a discussion in another thread that it is illegal to reset the counter.

Nothing illegal about what they're talking about, switching from print clicks to development counts is just a different way of calculating usage. 1 full color print is equal to 4 developments (though developments is not normally used in contract pricing). The meter print sheet will specify prints or developments. It won't reset the counter if you switch, say 10k prints into the life of the machine (ex. 8k bk & 2k fc), the new meter sheet will show for example something like 10k bk developments and 8k fc and also break down the c,m and y and a total development count of around 16k. Just a guess on these values but you get the idea.
