    SMB SCANNING

Hi, All. I am trying to set up SMB scan to folder on a computer that has it's main drive(Local Disk) designated H: instead of C: Using the pathway of \\ip address\scans is not working. The scans folder is on H: drive shared and with full permissions. What pathway should I be using?

Can you browse to the drive thru the machine? What OS are you trying to scan to? Have you tried\\computer-name\scans? Have you adding a user name and password that has the proper network permissions?

You can go to the network shares and locate the machine you're trying to scan to and get the network share directly from a pc. Sometimes the shared name is not the same or is changed by the end user.

You can also try with other Computer.
Try the same path \\ip address\scaner and see if it reach the folder.

If it's Windows you're using, you should always fill in a username and, if needed, a password. The path you're describing should be OK.

I finally got it to work. After a bit of poking around I found multiple "scans" folders on the drive which apparently was confusing the issue. I deleted all but the shared one I created, set up shortcuts and was good to go. Thanks for all the input, guys.
