Aficio 3245C Tray 1 does not recognize paper

Last month we had this device moved to a new building. The toner and waste toner bottol where removed, and stored before the move, but I left paper in the trays.

Sense the move (until today) Tray 1 only recognized the paper as being present for a few minuts, then goes back to empty.
Today it's not recognizing the paper in the tray at all.

I think there might be a problem with the moter that lifts the paper to the sensor or paper feed roller. Has anyone seen this problem before? Might there be an easy fix?

Probably just a sheet of paper behind the tray.

I pulled the paper tray out, and did not find any paper back there. I even tried using Tray 1 from a CL7200 (same style).

check that the tray is lift up and down, if t does
you can try to pull the tray out and look inside
if i am not forget there should be a black lever to
check that if tray1 has any paper
if it is there ,maybe the sensor is break

I pulled the paper tray out, and pushed the black lever. When I did that my coworker said the paper level display went to full.

Try removing the tray and checking the 2 photointeruptors on the lift motor. I have had these fall off before and this fools the machine into thinking it is out of paper.
If they are OK try the "black lever" you mentioned and check the sensor this actuates - it might also be loose or dusty.

I would check the paper size sensors. If you moved it with the paper in the up position it loosened the whole feed unit and paper size sensors.
It feeds paper so go for the next logical.
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

There was a bulletin put out about this issue. Check out TSB010 below. The spacer itself isn't much. A piece of tape over a quarter inch piece of a business card folded over will do the same thing. This should do the trick...

I had a simalar issue the other day on one of these models.

The tray they use the most was not staying fully closed.
It was only slightly edging out by about 3-5mm but it was enough to for the machine to think it was either empty or had a different size of paper loaded.

Turn out to the holder of the spring clip that holds the tray in place at the rear of machine had come away from the frame at the top.
