I hope this is the right place to ask this but I am looking for the procedure to remove the data from the hard drive but still leave the OS to run the machine. I have to do 100 of these. Any help would be appreciated

The machine is controlled by a NVram. The hard drive is a spooler for printing and scanning.
Just reformat the HDD in service mode.
Run some BS prints and scans and reformat it again.
Or just remove and destroy them. The machine will still pass paper. Why do they call it common sense?
If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it? -
Well, it depends on whether you need to do a secure wipe (non-recoverable with ones and zeros) or a basic format to clear out any data (just wipes out the FAT table and file/directory info, but still retains the data until it is overwritten later). The easiest and cheapest way is to to format the HDD in service mode and be done with it in a few minutes. If your requirements are to have a totally scrubbed HDD, then you will have to remove the drive and format it with a PC/laptop with software (time and money, probably best to just replace it). Then when it is reinstalled, it will need to be formatted again in service mode to set the right partitions. If you need to know how to format them on the device through service mode, PM me.Comment
