    hi guys

    i have a ricoh 2022, and what to connect it directly to a laptop, without using a router or switch. can i use crossover cable? tried it but having difficulty setting up the ip addresses..

    yes you can
    put a static ip address on your laptop same with the machine. e.g. PC=192.168.1.3, 255.255.255.0 Machine=192.168.1.4,255.255.255.0

            Also, most laptops manufactured within the last several years have auto switching on the nic and don't require a crossover. You'd have to check the specs on your model.

              The statement is correct from teebee have you considered using usb as a a means of connecting and printing if it is just the laptop connected
