Mac os scanning and printing help

    Hi All,

I have a new Ricoh MP C4501 that the customer wants to do printing and scanning from a Mac. I have already set up everything for their PCs. I have never worked on a Mac before. I was able to get the Mac to print, but the customer has color locked out with user codes and I have no idea where\how to enter the user code in the print driver. They also want to set up SMB scanning to this Mac and I have no idea how\where to set this up. Can anyone help out a Mac newbie? TIA

I believe you are out of luck with the user code. but scanning is set up like windows with the additional step of enabling "windows sharing" on the Mac.

If you folow the instructions from tonnerboy, user codes can be set up in a mac. after you check the box that says "user code"and input the code, you can click on where it says, "presets", then "save as", and give it a name, like user code. each time you need to print, then just select that preset and it will carry the user code over.
Since the original post says it is only ised for color, they can set up another preset for black and white. Click on "printer features", then "color mode", then "presets," then "save as" and give it another name like "black&white".

I have found that if you scan to folder use the Ip address not the server name in setting up the Scan to folder on the Mac
