    3228C prints, wont scan?

Hey there, interesting problem I have been at today - copier is printing but has stopped scanning. The path seems to bo correct and I can ping the machine but the scans just fail everytime. Another weird thing is that I cannot access the web image monitor at all?

I'm thinking of doing a full firmware update, any other ideas?

paste the path statement into a "Start> Run" box and see if it brings up the folder. See if the computer name has changed, If you're using an IP in the path, see if it changed. If the folder in on a Win7 box you are SOL. You will have to move it to an older OS.

Did you try resetting the scanner app and NCS?

I ended up doing a full firmware update and it did bring the scanning back online. Weirdly the next morning it had stopped working again so I had to redo it all to get it back to life.

Seems like something else is wrong with the machine - possibly a faulty network board?

Not if you're having no problem with the printing

Indeed, the printing is completely fine. It's so frustrating as the scanning can work perfectly for hours and then suddenly just stops working again. I am seriously beginning to think its a network issue at the customers but they won't accept this!

            Urgh.

So all you do to resolve this is to reflash the firmware? No network manipulation?

I had a similar issue awhile back on the same model. I was able to determine after the 2nd call that the problem started after they did some updates to their network (I could scan fine directly to my laptop). I threw back on them and wouldn't you know it, the problem magically resolved itself post haste. The next time you go there, take a network switch and connect it between the mfp and the data port. If they can't scan and see the WIM from a workstation, plug your laptop into the switch and see if you can connect and scan. If so, call it a day.

Yeah I am going to test with a laptop and crossover cable next and if I can scan then I am going to tell them its a network issue - getting fed up with this now!
