Couple of things, make sure network support firmware is 5.19 and read attached tech bulletin in regards to improper shutdown causing this. Sometimes the fax unit can cause it (try removing and reboot without it). Also update all of the firmware. If all else fails then most likely you will have to replace the controller.

we have faced this problem with almost 15 units. from the first time we encountered this we already updated all the firmawares of the other units(MP40005000) and educate our customer of the proper shutdown proc but to no avail. we replaced all the controller boards.

          Re: RICOH aficio MP5000

I have expereinced one or two cases of replacing the touch panels but most of the times it has been because our client broke their pannels. But know they are telling me they have the same problem it happens on MP2510/AF3030 machine where the touch panel do not work properly. In my service mannual I saw two codes D009 1488 and D009 1498 and I wonder wich one of them is the one that I have to order to replace the damaged tocuh panel, does anybody know wich one should I order??

We have been face this problem before, for several machines what we replace is the controller and there is one machine we replace interface board for BICU and Controller, it may accure also if the print/scan option is remove with out turning off the the device setting for usb and ethernet 5-985.
