I've seen a topic here stated you can't use the new BK pcu for color because of it's different shaped wax bar but you can use the MPC2800/5000 bk pcu as color if you remove a little piece of metal inside the machine - IIRC the modding part of the PCU was the same but we haven't tried it so far...

Modify black PCU to Colour PCU for MPC3501

Is it the same as modifying the black PCU's as the MPC2800/3300 or the MPC2500/3000?
These models, the black PCU can be easily modified to fit the colour. In the MPC3501 i haven't had the time to look into it so being new in this forum i thought i ask the resourses of the world if they have resolved the mod as yet.

As mentioned before any help is appreciated.

its possible, you have to modify the pcu as in the mpc2800 thread mentioned, additional to this, you have to remove the metal thingies at the backside of the color slots (the ones with the sipke on it) with a good plier. works like a charm

thank you for the information. I'll try the same mod as the MPC2800 and see if it works. BTW the corner with the metal spike is easier to just file it down with a file without having to remove the metal bit. shapes the plug as well.

Anyone had a chance to see if it works Modding the fusers and transfer belt from the spc printers? etc making an spc820 fuser fit a mpc5000.

I think the printer equivalent would be a spc821 but im unsure.
