Jam in MP6500 finisher exit

Hi Guys

If have a MP6500 with a SR970 finisher. Copying to the top exit tray works fine. Copying to the shift tray on the other hand causes problems. Every 10 or so copies will jam in the finisher. Only half of the page will be out of the finisher and JAM CODE 103 is displayed.

103 Finisher 103. Finisher Exit
When the paper fails to activate the exit sensor at the precise time after
activating the entrance sensor or remains at the exit sensor for longer than the
prescribed time.

I have changed the entrance sensor but not yet the exit one because we do not have in stock. I ordered one but was wondering if anybody has had this problem and it might not be the exit sensor?

The only troubles I've had with exiting paper were caused by those two sponge rollers losing diameter. Could it be the case with you?
