MP 7500 Intermittent problem with jamming @ 069

    Hi all,

As in title machine suffers haveing Intermittent problem with jamming @ 069 area. Basically duplex exit off- LAG . It does not matter whether you actually make single side or double sided copies. It can get jammed on one sheet and when multicopying either. When i got one of the single sheet jammed a paper was found between two joggers still at duplex unit . An image looks ok( not skewed , registered to late etc ) so i don't suspect any problems with registration section. The exit Sensor seems to be working as in input mode you can see changing his values. I have not replaced that sensor yet but instead the left duplex table & entrance sensor . Stepper motor also seems to be working perfectly . I cleaned both connectors ( duplex& main frame) but problem reoccuring. I personally suspect IOB- DRB- or something really silly. That duplex is only motor driven no clutches then. Interesting fact is when i managed to get one sheet jammed was not even getting the exit sensor (one with the arm) so looks rather like mechanical problem than anything else but still got a feeling that iob could be faulty. When i looked at the history of the problem first symptoms appeared in March few people already serviced machiene but still the same

Thanks for any help and ideas in advance

Is your duplex roller solenoid firing? Rollers cleaned/replaced? I think there is an adjustment on the bracket for that solenoid as well. If it's a high meter machine, also check the duplex joggers for tiny paper cuts at the bottom.
the savin2535 is displaying well bet the hiter lamp is not shining and the lamp had been tested o.k.please kindly help.
Samir: No, not again. I... why does it say paper jam when there is no paper jam? I swear to God, one of these days, I just kick this piece of shit out the window.

What's the meter reading on this thing?
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

            Hit it.

And the joggers are good? I've seen these fail at about this meter on them with the tiny paper cuts in them. Also check the duplex entrance guides for wear spots in addition to the arm on the duplex entrance sensor. Sounds like something is worn and giving you the random misfeeds. You might want to check the turnover/exit section rollers, guides and idlers. Maybe a missing spring on an idler or that moveable guide that is just upstream of the duplex entrance.

Also, any chance of swapping the entire duplexer out with another machine for testing?

If you already cleaned/replaced the duplex entrance sensor and confirmed that the gate tension spring it's in place try a new IOB. Is the firmware up to date on this unit?
                  Good luck!

Nothing missint at this unit , all springs are in place and non of them out of position either.
The guides have never been repaced but i couldn't find anything wrong with them.

I do not have another machine to swop with i rather can order a new complete unit :-)

                      Hard to troubleshoot without parts.
Could be one of those weird firmware issues...a slight variance in feeding timing (caused by the paper itself) can trigger the Lag problem. Also a defective sensor can behave erratically too. I'll start first by replacing the sensor and cleaning all rollers on the paper path and in the duplex, using IOB as a last resource in troubleshooting.

Make sure the fuser carriage actually has the 4 screws in in securing it to the rails. I recently had this same problem and found the screws missing. It will sit into the rail slots fine without them, but it will cause intermittent misfeeds in that area.

Check first which paper tray you are using that makes the problem came out.Check the feeding unit of that tray.If the feed,pick-up and reverse roller are worn out replace them.If not then clean all the gears of the feeding unit and lubricate them and clean the sensors also.If still the same replace all the one way gears in the feeding unit.

Check for any VERY small paper jamss in the duplex unit sockets (rear frame) can be hard to see.
