I think you are on the right track with the customer using shit paper. I had a huge headache trying to convince a customer their paper was the issue. Run off a few reams of your own good quality paper before you pull the thing to bits.

        Re: MP 2500 jamming

I have ordered pickup roller and pad (already done) and clutch and will fit all anyway. I have isolated to the top draw only at this stage from customer feed back and no jams from lower draw. I have disconnected the two paper supply sensors and tested 200 from a full draw and worked fine (the display will now always say half full)
I've been unplugging those sensors as soon as I get a whiff of this problem. I assume the machine then uses just the paper empty sensor to lift the paper trays after these are unplugged. Open the side door and peak into the feed area as you close the tray to observe and confirm this is the issue you're having. If you add or remove paper this usually solves the issue temporarily.
I will replace pickup parts and test till the cows come home and see what happens

Shorten the lift spring at the rear of the machine by 10mm and you'll never have another non feed jam again.

Perfect, 2000 test pages and then paper jam, opened side door pickup roller just spins on paper, so I tensioned spring and paper picked up. So thanks I shortened spring, tested again heeps and all looks good.
            Thanks for the feedback

didn't there used to be tray lift pressure settings in SP mode? (1027 etc) Are they still on the newer machines?
