[Error Code] Savin 2560 error code SC990

We received these machines as a trade in and we had to remove the HDDs. The financial institution they came from requested that they have them.

I used another 40GB ide HDD and formatted it to NTFS and later FAT and put them into the machine. It throws a sc990 code.

I would appreciate any help with this matter. If anyone has a service manual and Firmware for that particular model, I would greatly appreciate it.

    email - garyg@d-o-s.com

    Thanks..

is the right hd?is the same? usually you have a voltage leak when sc990 appears, and you solve it changing the drum, but if you are using the wrong hd everything could happen

You're likely going to need the exact p/n and model number from the disk to get it to work. Have you tried formatting the drive in the machine?

Also check your master/slave switches to match the drives you pulled out.

good call. on this model, the HDD needs to be set to master, not slave or cable select. install the drive set as maser, and then do a format from the machine, not a computer

I will check the jumper.. When formatting in the machine, how long should it take? I tried a format all and it sat for 14hrs then threw the code.

It only does a low level format when performed by the machine so it should take less than a minute. I can get you the model and p/n off of one in our warehouse if need be.
