    Key Counter Activation on 2090

I placed a Ricoh 2090 on a rental and am trying to activate the key counter for account billing. I can enter and see the users, but cannot find where I activate the requirement of entering the user code before startring a copy job. I checked to service modes and user guide and have 2 additional gray hairs associated with this problem.

It sounds like you aren't trying to activate a key counter but rather enable user codes, is that correct? You want the users to have to input a code to use the machine?

You enable the user codes thru User Tools/Counters->System Settings->Administrator Tools tab-> User Authentication Management. You will then select the functions you wish to require a code to use (printing, copying, etc). You will also have to give the user codes the rights to these functions.

User tools>System settings> Administrator tools page 2>User authentication management>Select user code auth.

Plus, remove a small little cover near to the top of the right side of the machine and remove pull out a jumper to activate your user code programing, to keep your jumper safe for your user disabling take some tape and stick it to the back of the cover you took off, then put the cover back in place. That's only for the electromechanical key counter, not user codes.

(Man, I haven't seen one of those in ages! )
