    i have an gestetner 660/ ricoh afico 2060 with and sc code of 101
    have replaced everything, every board, cables, lens unit with no avail.
    any ideas?

    I had this and it turned out to be the scanner drive motor.
    I replaced the motor and the drive board together in case one was taking the other out.

      i replaced both as a set didnt work... lol hammer fixn to be next...
      tech support isnt any help either

        dumb question- did you check the white plate for dirt? A dirty white plate can cause this error.

          Does this happen during book mode copying with the platen (and ADF) open.

          This error can be caused by strong lamp lighting striking the exposure glass with the platen and ADF raised. I know it sounds weird but that could be it.

          you could also try to replace the lens block to recover operation...
